Pear Persimmon Oats        

with Dark Chocolate and Ginger

4 pears (unpeeled), cut into bite sized chunks

1 ripe persimmon, cut into bite sized chunks

1 1/2 cups quick oat flakes

1/3 cup coconut sugar  *or 1/4 cup cane, brown sugar or maple syrup

2 tbsp finely chopped crystallized ginger

1/3 cup finely chopped dark chocolate

1 cup liquid - either juice, water, or Rooibos tea is good too!

you can also add hemp seeds, chopped nuts (hazelnuts would be delicious)

Preheat oven to 350*

In a large bowl mix all ingredients together.  Pour into a baking dish, cover with foil and bake in oven for about an hour, until heated through, and oats and pears are soft.

Serve with syrup  *we used our own Bergamot Pear Teazer Syrup, vanilla yogurt, fresh cream, ice cream, quark, mascarpone or ricotta


Serves 6 for breakfast
